How to get a Police Clearance ID in 2020: A Complete Guide

In this post, we will guide you through the process of getting a Police Clearance ID in the Philippines.

What is a Police Clearance ID?

The National Police Clearance will certify that you don’t have any criminal records in the PNP or Philippine National Police’s database.

The Police Clearance ID is also is a valid government ID that you can use when applying for other government ID’s like NBI clearance, SSS, Philhealth ID, etc.

*As per 2020, the National Police Clearance ID is still NOT honored as a valid ID when applying or renewing your passport.

In my previous experience, getting a police clearance used to be a hassle as I had to wait for hours in line at the police station before I could get my ID. Thankfully, the Philippine National Police created an online registration/application website that improves and expedites the process of checking for an individual’s criminal records.

After registering online, the applicant would still be required to visit his/her local police station for photo and fingerprint capturing. The entire process would only take at least 10-15 minutes.

Validity of Clearance

The National Police Clearance ID will be valid for six months.
